The NZ Transport Agency has closed State Highway 8 between Tekapo and Twizel around 9 am this morning due to ice on the road as temperatures plummeted across the south of the South Island overnight and early this morning.
The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists that the Manawatū Gorge will be closed from 9am on Monday 11 July to allow the recovery of a truck that went off the road and into the river on Friday 8 July.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 15 July 2016. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.
Contractors began installing a new gas pipeline and fibre cable under Queenstown’s Shotover River bridge this week, affecting traffic movements from night to early morning – 8.00 pm to 6.30 am weekdays. The work may take until Friday 29 July.
