The NZ Transport Agency says today’s official construction start on the Transmission Gully Motorway marks a major step towards a safer and more resilient transport link in and out of the nation’s capital.
Our focus is on making New Zealand’s freight system safer and more efficient. Improving safety while reducing the cost of doing business will make New Zealand a better place to live and work. Reducing the cost of moving freight will help improve the competitiveness of our exports, reduce the costs of the goods we buy, and grow our economy.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 12 September. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.
The NZ Transport Agency wishes to advise that there is a detour in place on State Highway 2 between Waiotahi and Opotiki, in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. This is due to a truck crash earlier this morning.
