Marlborough residents and regular users of State Highway 1 near Blenheim must remember to add extra travel time to their journeys when heading through St Andrews south of Blenheim from tomorrow night (Thursday, 14 March).
People about to drive north of Christchurch through Leithfield on SH1 should expect delays after a serious injury crash between two vehicles after 4 pm, says NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
UPDATE 12 March: Due to forecast bad weather, the road closure initially scheduled for this Thursday (14 March) has been brought forward to tomorrow (Wednesday, 13 March).
People travelling on State Highway 1, south of Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Road, please be advised that overnight resurfacing works will be taking place over the next 3 nights, from 7pm tonight (Tuesday 12 March).
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi appreciates that road users are experiencing increased delays today on SH2 near Whakamārama in the Western Bay of Plenty.
11 March update: With one more week of night closures planned for State Highway 2 Remutaka Hill, drivers wanting to join escorted crossings are asked to make their bookings as quickly as possible.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 15 March 2024.
Due to a fire under the Newton Road bridge last night, there will be an urgent closure on SH16 eastbound link to SH1 northbound link between 9pm and 5am to carry out repair work and inspection of the Newton Road bridge.
Resurfacing work will continue tonight (Wednesday 6 March) on State Highway 1 at Te Hana from 7pm until 5am, with traffic management in place to ensure two-way traffic can still move through the site.
