A section of State highway 6 about 15km south of Makarora that’s been closed by a major slip since early Thursday morning, re-opens at 3pm today, Saturday 28 June 2014.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. A large rock fall that has closed State highway 6 about 15km south of Makarora since early yesterday morning, will keep the highway closed for the remainder of today as well.
The passing lanes on both sides of State Highway (SH1) between the Tamahere Drive and Airport Road off-ramps will be out of action next month, to allow contractors to work on the median strip.
State Highway 36 (SH36) at Mangorewa Gorge will be closed from 9am until 4pm tomorrow (June 26) to allow contractors to finish important safety works in the area.

Motorists are advised that the second night of planned diversions will be in place this evening at the Domain Road/State Highway 2 intersection, as part of on-going construction of the NZ Transport Agency’s Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) project.

The Transport Agency is advising that work to upgrade Te Kowhai Road and Limmer Road to connect SH39 traffic with the Te Rapa section of the Waikato Expressway is nearly complete, with a new intersection layout at Limmer Road and Horotiu Road which re-prioritises state highway traffic.
