Purpose

To seek the Board's approval for funding the Auckland Regional Transport Authority's (ARTA's) (for Auckland City Council) Ian McKinnon Drive Transport Improvements project within the Auckland region.

Resolutions

The NZ Transport Agency Board:

  1. approves funding for the investigation and design of ARTA's (Auckland City Council) Ian McKinnon Drive transport improvements project at an estimated cost of $200,000 and a financial assistance rate of 53% (NZ Transport Agency's share $106,000) from N funds;
  2. notes that the construction cost for the project is estimated at $1.60 million;
  3. notes the reasons for this decision are as set out in the Reasons for decision section; and
  4. agrees to take Board paper 08/08/0019 out of Committee when the Board has published the notice of decision.

Reason for the decision

The Ian McKinnon Drive transport improvements project forms part of ARTA's Auckland regional cycle network and accommodates enhanced pedestrian facilities. These upgraded facilities will contribute to promoting active modes. It also enhances the corridor's bus priority measures connecting to the Auckland CBD.The project contributes to GPS and LTMA active mode, passenger transport and safety targets and objectives.

We confirm that the matters in sections 20(2) and 20(5) of the LTMA have been satisfied, and that the matters in section 20(3) have been taken into account.
