Introduction

Work category 111 provides for the routine care of sealed pavements to maintain their structural integrity and serviceability.

Qualifying activities

 

  • Examples of qualifying activities

    Examples of qualifying activities include, but may not be limited to:

    • pavement dig-outs, patching and pothole repairs
    • pre-reseal repairs
    • unsealed shoulder maintenance on sealed roads
    • the approved organisation’s or Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency's (state highways) share of pavement maintenance at railway level crossings together with any associated servicing fee
    • protective covering over the road where stock cross at grade
    • road protection against stock damage.

Applying for funding approval

Applications for funding approval should be made through the maintenance module in Transport Investment Online(external link).

Programme management

The management of the maintenance programme is delegated to approved organisations and Waka Kotahi (state highways). This includes the transfer of funding between work categories.
