Introduction

Work category 512 provides for contracted ferry public transport services that are set out in the current regional public transport plan (RPTP) prepared in accordance with Part 5 of the Land Transport Management Act 2003.(external link)

Qualifying activities

The work category includes a range of qualifying activities.

  • Examples of qualifying activities

    Examples of qualifying activities include, but may not be limited to:

    • preparation and management of contracts and monitoring of services
    • contracted ferry services
    • on vessel provision for people with disabilities, cycles and prams
    • on vessel installation and operational costs associated with public transport technology
    • service variations provided these are consistent with the public transport units in the currently adopted RPTP
    • new service improvements provided these are consistent with the public transport units in the currently adopted RPTP, and
    • the management costs and overheads associated with activities funded under this work category.
