NZTA engages frequently with the freight sector through our National Freight Forum (focussing on our role as the road controlling authority for state highways), and the Road Freight Safety Group (focussing on our role as the safety regulator).
We listen to the freight sectors concerns and where their issues intersect with NZTA’s statutory functions, and provide public benefit, we work together on solutions.
NZTA has now developed an Action Plan for Freight which responds to these issues and sets ways to grow the national economy and lift productivity.
These actions sit alongside wider actions from government and industry.
