Traffic notices provide a brief overview of upcoming temporary night closures and road layout changes.

All closures are subject to change depending on weather and ground conditions. Full and/or partial (single lane) road closures have been scheduled as follows:

SH1 Southern Motorway - southbound

  • Monday 22 April - Tuesday 23 April: All southbound motorway lanes will be closed between Takanini Interchange and Drury Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A southbound detour will be in place between these interchanges along Great South Road.
  • Wednesday 24 April: If required for contingency purposes, all southbound motorway lanes will be closed between Takanini Interchange and Drury Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. Should this occur, a southbound detour will be in place between these interchanges along Great South Road.
  • Thursday 25 April: All southbound motorway lanes will be closed between Takanini Interchange and Papakura Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A southbound detour will be in place between the two interchanges.
  • Thursday 25 April: If required for contingency purposes, all southbound motorway lanes will also be closed between Papakura Interchange and Drury Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. Should this occur, a southbound detour will be in place between Takanini and Drury interchanges along Great South Road due to the southbound motorway closure between Takanini and Papakura interchanges.

SH1 Southern Motorway - northbound

  • Sunday 21 April - Tuesday 23 April: All northbound motorway lanes will be closed between Drury Interchange and Takanini Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A northbound detour will be in place between these interchanges along Great South Road.
  • Wednesday 24 April: The Drury northbound off-ramp will be closed from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A detour to Papakura Interchange will be in place.
  • Thursday 25 April: All northbound motorway lanes will be closed between Drury Interchange and Takanini Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A northbound detour will be in place between these interchanges along Great South Road.

Beach Road, Papakura

  • Sunday 21 April - Tuesday 23 April: A single westbound lane (the left-hand lane) will be closed between Chichester Drive and the motorway over-bridge from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single westbound lane will remain open to traffic.
  • Wednesday 24 April: All westbound lanes will be closed between Chichester Drive and the motorway over-bridge from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. Should this occur, a detour towards Karaka will be in place via Beach Road, Great South Road to Drury and SH1 northbound (to exit at Papakura northbound off-ramp).
  • Thursday 25 April: A single westbound lane (the left-hand lane) will be closed between Chichester Drive and the motorway over-bridge from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single westbound lane will remain open to traffic.

Flanagan Road, Drury

  • Sunday 21 April - Saturday 27 April: A single lane will be open between Flanagans Bridge and 228 Flanagan Road for affected landowners only. 

Motorists are advised to take extra care and follow the posted detour route/s.
