About the project

Being an important passenger and commuter link for the Wellington region and Wellington city, this project involved a partnership between the NZ Transport Agency, Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC), Wellington City Council (WCC) and the Ministry of Culture and Heritage (MCH). In mid-2009, the Transport Agency invited tenders for the undertaking of investigations on the planned improvements around the Basin Reserve. The contract was awarded to Opus International Consultants. A multi-disciplinary team developed options for public engagement.
