The Land Transport Act 1998 sets out rules that help keep our land transport system and the people who use it safe. Our Director of Land Transport has the authority to issue a piece of secondary legislation to a class so it’s exempt from the standard legal requirement for a set timeframe. A class exemption is only issued under special circumstances.
