Low volume vehicle certification review

Published: | Category: Research & reports | Audience: Motorists

The Low Volume Vehicle (LVV) certification system for scratch-built or modified vehicles is being reviewed to ensure it is still fit for purpose, and to look for ways it could be improved.

The Transport Agency will publish information on these pages as the review progresses.

Resources are available on the following:

  • Phase 1 – an independent survey by Standards NZ and further analysis resulting in a set of actions for implementation (the Standards NZ report and phase 1 Q&As)
  • Phase 2 – short-term actions primarily focused on providing high-level visibility of how common certifications can be made and of the Technical Advisory Committee (Q&As)
