The Traffic control devices manual (TCD manual) provides guidance on industry best practice, including, where necessary, practice mandated by law in relation to the use of traffic control devices.

Traffic control devices manual index

Introduction

A wide range of documents were accessed during the course of preparing the Traffic control devices manual (TCD Manual). Unless it has been necessary to provide a suitable context for the relevant section, the TCD Manual avoids duplicating material contained in other documents preferring to reference the source.

Transitional references

Among the source documents are a number, in particular the Manual of Traffic Signs and Markings (MOTSAM) and many Traffic Notes, which will eventually be replaced by the TCD Manual. These documents have currently been referenced so readers may check the original sources, particularly during the consultation phases of the TCD Manual. In due course these references will be removed.
