Understanding attitudes and perceptions of cycling and walking

Published: | Category: Walking & cycling , Planning, design, funding, building, maintenance of the transport network , Guidance for specialists | Audience: General

Since 2018, Waka Kotahi has been tracking urban New Zealanders’ attitudes and perceptions towards walking and cycling, as well as their use of different modes of transport. The survey is conducted by independent research agency TRA. The findings  are published annually.

This research provides valuable insights around urban New Zealanders’ walking and cycling behaviours and motivations, as well as the barriers that prevent them from using these active modes of transport,  or doing so more often.
