The Transport Services Technical advice note (TAN) is a formal memo which keeps all relevant people up to date and aware of any new releases, interim acceptances, changes and updates to technical information, specifications, legislation, etc in relation to highway projects.

This is being used in place of the email memos you may have been receiving from the technical teams across the Transport Services group.

The Technical advice note series should be seen as the one source of truth associated with changes to our technical requirements.

It is sent to registered users, both internal and external to Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.

Standards and Guidelines Update – 21 March 2024

Published: | Category: Technical advice note | Audiences: Standards and Guidance users, TAN Subscribers | Author: Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency

This newsletter provides a summary of recent revisions to existing standards and addition of new standards on the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) register of standards and guidelines, and identifies NZTA standards that are currently being consulted on. Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency standards and guidelines register for land transport

This newsletter replaces our former system of sending out individual Technical Advice Note (TAN) notifications every time an individual standard was reviewed or ratified and added to our register. The new format aims to make it easier to see all of our changes and future consultations in one place and reduce the number of emails sent to you. We may send individual TANs for significant changes to standards and individual TANs will still be issued to establish interim policy. This new format newsletter is distributed approximately once every quarter (the frequency of newsletters will be reviewed).
