Road safety barrier accreditation scheme gets green light for safety.

The Guide to assessing road- traffic noise using NZS 6806 for state highway asset improvement projects has been updated.  

The SM021, SM030 and SM031 State highway manuals have been updated.

The P46 State highway stormwater specification sets out the design and construction stormwater requirements for all state highway improvement projects, however a construction specification will still be necessary for construction requirements.

Updates have been made to preliminary instructions for maintenance and minor improvement works.

The NZ Transport Agency’s State highway plan for 2016/17 is now available. The final details and final version will be confirmed following the financial year end close, and confirmation of financial position.

This Technical Advice Note replaces TAN #16-05, please disregard the incorrect TAN. Changes have been made to our requirements for the health and safety of contractors and consultants working on the state highway.

Amendment 2 to the NZ Transport Agency Bridge manual (3rd edition) is available on the Transport Agency’s website for download.

Highways and Network Operations have launched the new Highway structures design guide.

As of May 2016, we have migrated all the information and pages of our Highways Information Portal (HIP) into nzta. govt. nz to give it the same look and feel as our external website as part of an Transport Agency-wide consolidation exercise. Highways Information Portal

If you have the HIP bookmarked, please update the bookmark in your internet browser to this new address. An automatic redirect will ensure anyone trying to access the old HIP pages will be taken directly to the new HIP pages. Content and structure of the site is largely unchanged, with the exception of SAP and TIO being moved into the Processes section. We have also incorporated the Air Quality and Acoustics websites of the Environment and Urban Design team into the new HIP.
