A key driver of the Network Outcomes Contract (NOC) is continuous improvement. To aid in developing our understanding of the NOC the following communications, industry advisory group, lessons learned and FAQ’s are provided.

NOC 2018 consultation

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency sought to revise the NOC to improve, clarify and capture current best practice.

NOC 2018 aimrf to improve our customer focus, deliver on the direction of the Waka Kotahi strategy and the Government Policy Statement on land transport (GPS), and provide a better environment for our people and suppliers.

Industry Advisory Group

The Industry Advisory Group (IAG) is a forum made up of Waka Kotahi and NOC Suppliers. The IAG was set up at the commencement of the maintenance and operations review and was key in developing the NOC model and procurement process. The IAG’s role has now changed and is more focused on the implementation of the NOC.

Lessons learned

Following a deep dive audit of some of the suppliers of the NOCs, there are some key themes that have been identified as lessons learned [PDF, 407 KB] for other NOCs.
