Cost of the assessment

A rail participant must reimburse Waka Kotahi for costs incurred in carrying out a safety assessment. 

This includes a charge of $120/hr for each employee carrying out safety assessment activities and additional expenses such as travel. We will ensure these expenses are appropriate and fair.

These activities may include: 

• rail participant analysis and preparation of the assessment scope 
• developing the assessment plan 
• site risk assessment 
• on-site assessment 
• documentation reviews
• assessment drafting and finalising the assessment report determining remedial actions required.
