Apply for access to the Crash Analysis System (CAS)

Conditions of use

  1. Before you apply, view the Crash Analysis System (CAS) online data.
    We'll only approve access to CAS if this information does not meet your needs.
  2. You may only use CAS to:
    1. inform transport policy and regulations
    2. design and prioritise network user behaviour and road safety initiatives
    3. support funding applications for network and road safety improvements
    4. provide statistics to support public information requests
    5. monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of road safety initiatives
    6. provide information for research purposes connected with road network user behaviour, road safety and transport policy
    7. administer the Crash Analysis System (Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and approved contractors only).

We'll use the information you provide in the application form to process your application and to manage your use of CAS (if we approve your application).

Note that Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is collecting personal information relating to you to enable it to assess your application for access to CAS data. This information will only be disclosed to Waka Kotahi staff responsible for determining applications and to a contact person in your organisation to assist with keeping our data up-to-date.
