Road users in and around Pahiatua are being urged to expect delays for a week as roading crews will be working on SH2 Main Street and Pahiatua Track.

SH2 Main Street through Pahiatua will be closed overnight for three nights later this week, as crews work on the road.
Both lanes will close at 6pm each night from Wednesday, and reopen at 6am each morning. The work is expected to finish at 6am on Saturday morning.
Work was initially scheduled to take place last week but had to be postponed until late this week.
While crews are working on the northbound lane, traffic will be detoured down Huia Street, and Albert Street to Tararua Street then back to SH2.
While crews are working on the southbound lane, traffic will be detoured down Wakeman Street, and Sedcole Street to Kiwi Street and then back to SH2.
Waka Kotahi thanks road users for their continued patience through the closures. It is anticipated overnight closures will minimise the potential for disruption.

Waka Kotahi is advising motorists of one week of resurfacing and maintenance works on Pahiatua Track, beginning next Monday (17 April). This work is expected to finish next Friday (21 April).
The road will be closed from 9am to 4pm, with stop/go traffic management in place from 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm to enable a smoother journey for commuter travel.
These works were previously planned for earlier in the year but were cancelled following Cyclone Gabrielle to ensure access to Hawke’s Bay in the weeks following the cyclone.
“While the road is closed, we’re undertaking essential maintenance and resurfacing work to rebuild strength back into this section of the road,” says Mr Service.
“Closing the road allows for the work to be completed faster, ultimately causing less disruption to travellers, while ensuring the safety of the teams involved in the work.”
Access will remain open to Pahiatua Track residents, the project team and for emergency services at all times.
The detour route is via Saddle Road during the works on Pahiatua Track.
In Pahiatua, resurfacing work this Friday (14 April) will see one lane closed temporarily on SH2 Main Street and a detour in place for road users.
The work will take place between 9am and midday.
During the morning, the northbound lane will remain open with a lane shift in place, while southbound traffic will be detoured down Paterson Street, Sedcole Street, and Dawson Street before rejoining SH2.
Waka Kotahi System Manager for Manawatū-Whanganui / Taranaki, Rob Service is asking road users to plan their journey to allow extra time for travel.
Additionally from Monday (17 April), night work will be carried out on SH2 Main Street. Both lanes of the state highway will be closed, from 6pm to 6am each night next week. The work is expected to finish on Friday 21 April at 6am.
