Traffic notices provide a brief overview of upcoming temporary night closures and road layout changes.

All closures are subject to change depending on weather and ground conditions. Full and/or partial (single lane) road closures have been scheduled as follows:

SH1 Southern Motorway - southbound

  • Sunday 5 May - Monday 6 May: All southbound motorway lanes will be closed between Takanini Interchange and Drury Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A southbound detour will be in place between these interchanges along Great South Road.
  • Tuesday 7 May - Thursday 9 May: All southbound motorway lanes will be closed between Takanini Interchange and Papakura Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A southbound detour will be in place between the two interchanges.
  • Tuesday 7 May - Thursday 9 May: A single southbound motorway lane (the right-hand lane) will be closed between Papakura Interchange and Drury Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single southbound motorway lane will remain open to motorists and access to BP Service Centre will be maintained. 
  • Tuesday 7 May - Thursday 9 May: The new Papakura (Beach Road) southbound on-ramp will be closed from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A detour to Papakura southbound loop on-ramp via Hingaia Road and Hinau Road will be in place.

SH1 Southern Motorway - northbound

  • Sunday 5 May: The Papakura northbound loop on-ramp will be closed from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A detour to Takanini Interchange via Beach Road and Great South Road will be in place.
  • Sunday 5 May: All northbound motorway lanes will be closed between Drury Interchange and Papakura Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A northbound detour along Great South Road will be in place between Drury and Takanini Interchanges due to the northbound loop on-ramp at Papakura also being closed.
  • Monday 6 May - Thursday 9 May: All northbound motorway lanes will be closed between Papakura Interchange and Takanini Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A northbound detour will be in place between the two interchanges along Beach Road and Great South Road.
  • Monday 6 May - Thursday 9 May: A single northbound motorway lane (the right-hand lane) will be closed between Drury Interchange and Papakura Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single northbound motorway lane will remain open to motorists.

Beach Road, Papakura

  • Sunday 5 May - Thursday 9 May: A single westbound lane (the left-hand lane) will be closed between Chichester Drive and the motorway over-bridge from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single westbound lane will remain open to traffic.

Flanagan Road, Drury

  • Sunday 5 May - Saturday 11 May: A single lane will be open between Flanagans Bridge and 228 Flanagan Road for affected landowners only.

Motorists are advised to take extra care and follow the posted detour route/s.
