Most ID documents must be current.
The overseas full birth certificate must include:
- parents' details
- full name, date of birth and place of birth.
You must include a document from Immigration NZ which includes their full name and date of birth (can be a confirmation of their visa, work permit or date of entry into NZ).
Note: those born in Cook Islands, Nuie or Tokelau don't need to provide a document from Immigration.
You can use these documents to apply at an agent.
To be acceptable for driver licensing purposes, your student ID should have:
- your surname and first name or initials
- your photo
- the educational institution's logo or banner (or be on their letterhead).
Make sure you take:
- original documents (photocopies or scans aren't acceptable)
- you can show an electronic student ID on your phone or mobile device
- anything else you need for your application, like a medical certificate.
