Finishing touches for Gisborne asphalting programme - 23 September update

Final finishing and clean-up work as part of the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and Gisborne District Council asphalting programme will take place Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 September from 7pm – 5am.


Update Friday 23 September, 7.30am

This work has been postponed to the following week and will now start on the night of Monday 3 October, continuing on Tuesday 4 October and Wednesday 5 October.

All other details in the below traffic bulletin remain the same. Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience.


The work will be undertaken at a number of state highway and local road locations outlined in the table below.

Short periods of stop/stop will be in place, with expected delays of approximately five minutes.

Motorists are asked to adhere to the relevant speed limits and follow the directions of  traffic management staff and signs to help keep everyone safe.

This work is weather dependent. In the case of poor weather it will be moved to the next fine day.
