High voltage cable work will affect traffic signals at Kawarau Falls Bridge and pedestrian signals on Kawarau Road Friday, 4 March, off peak hours

|

Queenstown drivers who use the Kawarau Falls traffic signal-controlled bridge may encounter a manual Stop/Go temporary system controlling traffic flows on Friday, 4 March, between 10 am and 2 pm.

Pedestrians crossing Kawarau Road may find the pedestrian signals are not working and will need to take care crossing without the benefit of lights.

Aurora Energy needs to relocate its high voltage overhead cables from the bridge site to a new alignment, partially underground. A consequential power outage will affect the traffic lights at the bridge and neighbouring properties for about four hours.

If this work cannot take place on Friday, it will be moved to Monday, 7 March.
