  • Looking ahead, the next round of State Highway tunnel maintenance will be underway in Wellington from 8-10 April. • Traffic congestion is expected on State Highway 60 near Mapua on Easter Sunday while the Mapua Easter Fair is held at the Mapua Domain. Drivers can expect extra traffic in the area and potential travel delays between 8 am and 5 pm.

The details below outline the main planned state highway roadworks occurring in the greater Wellington region and the top of the South Island over the coming week (from Saturday, 30 March). Further details about regional state highway conditions and roadworks are also published on our website:

NOTE: Roadworks are dependent on weather and other factors. Bad weather can see work postponed to the next suitable night in the works programme.
