The Ngaruawahia section of the Waikato Expressway has reopened to traffic following a closure due to bridge works.
The stretch of State Highway 1 (SH1) between Taupiri roundabout and Horotiu roundabout was scheduled to close for four nights, from 6pm Monday August 25, to allow contractors to carry out works on Te Rehu o Waikato bridge.
The NZ Transport Agency says work has been completed two days earlier than anticipated and the stretch of SH1 is now open to all traffic.
The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and understanding while these works were carried out.
