Pukehata Road closure – Saturday 9 February

|

Motorists are being advised that Puketaha Road will be closed at the bridge site on Saturday 9 February between 3:30am and 5:00pm.

Contractors are scheduled to pour the concrete for the deck on the new Puketaha Road bridge, part of the Waikato Expressway Hamilton Section.

The closure is required to safely pour the concrete deck on the bridge which will take expressway traffic over Puketaha Road.

As traffic is unable to travel underneath at this time there will be detours in place and clearly signposted.

Access to properties will be maintained.

This work is weather dependent, and if delayed, the work will be carried out on the next suitable day.

The Puketaha Road bridge will take expressway traffic over Puketaha Road. When the Hamilton section opens in 2020, it will improve safety, reduce traffic congestion, cut journey times and boost economic growth.

The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and ongoing co-operation while construction of the Hamilton section of the expressway continues.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey this summer. Keep up to date with:
