|

Update 10:30am

State Highway 6 has  re-opened at Renwick following a crash earlier today.

NZTA/Waka Kotahi wants to thank drivers for their patience and cooperation while emergency services and contractors worked on clearing the crash scene and reopening the highway.

With weather warnings currently in place for the top of the South Island, drivers must take extra care on the roads.

The Metservice  has issued a Strong Wind Warning for the Marlborough Sounds and a Strong Wind Watch for the wider Marlborough region. Rain and wind warnings are also in effect for Tasman and Tākaka.

It is essential all road users drive to the conditions. Motorcyclists, trucks, vans, and towing vehicles must exercise caution in exposed areas and be prepared for sudden wind gusts.

Please check weather and road conditions before you travel as bad weather can see roads closed at short notice.
