Fourteen additional webcams have been commissioned on Auckland's motorway network by the NZ Transport Agency as it expands its traffic information services ahead of the Christmas holidays to give people more detailed information about highway conditions before they travel.
The NZ Transport Agency says ramp signals will start operating at the connection of the Southwestern and Southern motorways [State Highways 20 and 1] at Manukau in south Auckland on Monday, 13 December, to improve traffic flows and driver safety.
Auckland's Northwest commuters will benefit from safer journeys this holiday season when the NZ Transport Agency opens a new roundabout at the intersection of State Highway 16 and Brigham Creek Road on Monday 13 December.
The NZ Transport Agency says heavy vehicles will again be allowed to use the extreme left hand lanes on the north and south bound box girders on the Auckland Harbour Bridge from Saturday morning, 4 December.
The new pedestrian/cycle bridge spanning Onehunga Harbour Road will be officially opened by the NZ Transport Agency this Thursday afternoon - 2 December 2010. It will provide much needed safe crossing across Onehunga Harbour Road between the Old Mangere Bridge and Onehunga.
