It's official, summer has started! The change of season and the build up to Christmas means the road renewals season is almost at the halfway point, with great progress being made across the regions.
Work is beginning to repair and restore three sections of cyclone-damaged State Highway 2 between Wairoa and Napier. These sections will be back to two lanes before Christmas.
Temporary detour signage for the State Highway 1B Telephone Road rail crossing closure east of Hamilton will soon be replaced with fixed signs to lower costs while the long-term future of the crossing is decided.
Remedial works on State Highway 1 at Rangiriri are coming to an end but there are still two weeks of repairs before all four lanes are open to traffic.
Gisborne District Council has finished clearing William Pettie bridge and now crews move to the Gladstone Road bridge from 2pm today clearing woody debris under the bridge.
The Cameron Road/Fifteenth Avenue intersection will be closed to traffic at nights from 6pm Sunday 26 November to 6am Thursday, 30 November for work to resurface the intersection. The closure is expected to be in place for four nights (weather dependent).
20 November update: Despite some pretty poor weather this week, the Bay Link project team have finished the SH29A works ahead of schedule and the advertised closure will not be required tonight.
