Uenuku sculpture

This impressive 8m steel sculpture is located in the Puhinui wetland beside the Auckland Botanic Gardens at Manurewa and is visible from the Southern Motorway.

The Ngaati Te Ata Waiohua sculpture represents the deity Uenuku, the god of rainbows.

A bilingual interpretive sign providing the cultural context and narrative for the sculpture is located next to the pathway running between the Botanic Gardens northern access gate on Everglade Drive and David Avenue, which crosses under the motorway.
