Newly installed roundabout in Porirua industrial area.
Porirua City Council upgraded an existing T-intersection with the installation of a safe system roundabout, new pedestrian crossing points and a raised safety platform at one of the approaches to the roundabout.
As this intersection is in a busy commercial area, the council installed a mountable roundabout which means long vehicles, or those towing, can travel on top of the roundabout to move through it while still managing vehicle speed.
