Raised safety platform in Porirua
In 2022 Porirua City Council upgraded the existing Titahi Bay Road pedestrian crossing on a 4-lane median divided road, to a bus friendly raised safety platform.
The raised safety platform has successfully maintained vehicle speeds at 30 km/h for around 85% of vehicles, reducing the risk for people who walk and cycle in the area.
