The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that the State Highway 1 (SH1) Princes Street southbound off-ramp will be closed on Tuesday, 19th and Wednesday 20th September 2017, for urgent repairs to a damaged guardrail.
Consultation on a proposed State Highway 1 deviation through central Kaikoura to improve safety has resulted in more than 160 submissions, with a wide range of views and ideas provided.
Drivers on the Alternate Route between Picton and Christchurch will be detoured to Reefton this morning and possibly this afternoon after a two-truck crash on SH65, the Shenandoah Highway, earlier today. The detour adds another hour-and-a-half to the overall journey.
