A two week NZ Transport Agency trial gets underway on Monday, which will allow electric vehicle drivers access to five priority bypass lanes in Auckland.
The NZ Transport Agency, Heritage New Zealand and local hapū are excavating what could potentially be a defensive trench from the New Zealand Land Wars or the inter-tribal Musket Wars.
State Highway 7, the Lewis Pass road, will reopen at 8pm tonight, having been closed all afternoon as a scrub fire spread in several places near the Hanmer Springs turnoff. The closure was between Springs Junction and just north of Culverden.
