A temporary roundabout has been installed on SH1/3 to allow traffic to safely turn into the new Pukenui temporary road. The temporary road layout fully opened in early September and traffic is now flowing around the main construction site. An official sod turning took place at the Pukenui Road intersection on 15 May 2023. Gathered representatives turn the first sod as the Pukenui Road roundabout and shared user path project kicks off – 15 May 2023. Emergency service and freight partners attended the sod turning on 15 May 2023 Members of the Bulls community attended a drop-in information session to learn more about the project on 23 May 2023. A drop-in session was held at Te Matapihi – Bulls Community Centre on 23 May 2023 for members of the public to come along and learn about the project -– 23 May 2023. Temporary signage is in place at the Pukenui Road intersection outside RNZAF Base Ohakea as construction gets underway - 1 June 2023.
